Halloween at our house looks a little like this:
At night, the soft glow of all these candles, Halloween decorations, and twinkle lights is downright magical… I love this time of year!

I’m so excited to share that I’ve been selected as a member of Jessica Sprague’s new Create Inspiration Team!
Since joining The Dating Divas team over a year ago, I’ve really worked on my photography skills. Jessica’s amazing digital classes have been such a blessing to start learn the ins and outs of Photoshop to complement this growing hobby. Her easy to understand explanations and fun tutorials are by far the best I’ve seen on the web. I am so honored to be joining her creative team!
Here’s a recent card that I made using online elements from The Snap Click Supply Co:
The “31” digital element serves as the focal point for this quick and easy card. You can find this cute graphic in the Frightful Complete Kit. I printed it out and die cut the image using one of the Spellbinders Labels 16 Nestabilities. I ran it through the Cuttlebug machine one more time to emboss the image.
Then, I distressed the border using the Vintage Photo stamp pad from Tim Holtz. I love how distressing the edges really makes the embossing effect pop!
I layered this element on gold paper edged with orange glitter, printed digital paper lined with a gold Krylon pen, and a brown paper card base.
A small purple witch’s hat served as the final embellishment. I love adding a row of rhinestones to simulate a fancy ribbon or buckle on her hat!
I look forward to creating more projects using a mixture of digital and traditional paper elements!
Time: October 30th- November 5th
Developmental Milestones: Baby is continuing to grow this week, increasing her fat stores. Her lungs are continuing to develop and starting to manufacture surfactant. Several pregnancy week-by-week trackers suggest that you could tell the color of baby’s hair at this point!

A couple of recent Halloween goodies from the workshop:
Isn’t it interesting how well placed gemstones can add to your design- this skull becomes a lot more interesting with the addition of orange glowing eyes!
Don’t you just love how the memory box die swirls seem like magic effortlessly shooting out of her hand?… as though she just cast a spell?
I also had an opportunity to teach another class at Checkered Cottage where participants made these 2 beauties: a vintage Halloween card and treat bag. These projects utilize some of my favorite techniques: edging papers with gold and glitter, using dies, creating dimension with paper, and punching fun borders.
I absolutely love Fall and especially the month of October. Despite the chill in the air, it is usually still warm enough to enjoy outdoor activities.
Inspired by the to-do lists I’ve seen pop up on Pinterest, as well as this awesome post HERE, I’ve crafted my own bucket list for this “wonderFALL” season!
It’s already starting to look like Halloween around here! Last year, a good chunk of our house was under renovation so I opted not to pull out any decorations.
We have lots of reasons to celebrate this month: our 3rd wedding anniversary, J’s 30th birthday, and an upcoming whirlwind trip to the beach!
Have you heard of Eighteen 25’s Spooktacular September? These lovely ladies are featuring fun Halloween craft ideas from other bloggers every day this month. I am honored that they shared my idea for Halloween Treat Bags today! Head over to Eighteen25 to see what I made with this fun spider embellishment and craft paper!
I am so excited to be joining the Checkered Cottage team of teachers. This charming paper crafting store sells a variety of beautiful papers, embellishments, exclusive card design templates, and stencils. They have a dynamite schedule of Fall classes right now. Here is my take on Halloween…
